About the Event

The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. This is San Antonio's 35th annual official observance of this day which has gathered thousands of San Antonians together for prayer at the heart of the city. We thank God for the amazing people of San Antonio - for our families, for the entrepeneurs, for our healthcare workers, our grocers, and our city governance. We thank God for the millions of men, women, and children who have sacrificed their own ambitions out of a deep desire to protect life.  This year, in lieu of meeting in person, we will be livestreaming a time of citywide prayer. From your living rooms, kitchens, home offices - Please join us as we collectively lift our hearts in prayer - taking all our fears, hurts, hopes, and praises to our Heavenly Father. "For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of God." Habakkuk 2:14
